International Models: Learning Exchange
This strand of Coaction Hub seeks to explore international approaches VAWG with foregrounding perspectives and practices emerging from the Global South, informed by a decolonial framework.
Following an initial scoping exercise, the project focused on India due to existing partnerships and capacity constraints. There are significant contextual differences in women’s and children’s experiences of abuse, the delivery of domestic abuse services, and safeguarding frameworks across India and the UK. Coaction Hub’s report, Centring Women’s Needs: Learning from Feminist Social Work Practice in India, aims to explore how Special Cells feminist social work in India can offer opportunities for cross-learning within VAWG interventions in the UK.
